Our very own Scott McGhie was recently named to Georgia Trend magazine’s 2019 40 Under 40 class for his professional and philanthropic contributions to the Savannah community and the state. Georgia Trend’s 40 Under 40 list honors those who are making Georgia a great place to live and work. Scott and the rest of Georgia Trend’s 22nd annual class of honorees were featured in the October 2019 issue of Georgia Trend. Scott is one of only two Savannah professionals featured in the 40 Under 40 issue for 2019.
“For Scott McGhie, helping families manage their wealth and develop transition plans is a calling as much as it is a career,” the article explains. “McGhie is equally passionate about his involvement at the Savannah Classical Academy (SCA), a K-12 public charter school authorized by Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools.”
Scott joined The Fiduciary Group in 2008 as a research analyst and trader and was quickly promoted to director of the firm’s investment research team and lead manager of the firm’s high net-worth clientele investment portfolios. Outside of the office he’s an active community volunteer serving on the board of directors for the Savannah Jewish Educational Alliance and Savannah Classical Academy.
“We’re delighted that Georgia Trend has recognized Scott as one of Georgia’s rising stars,” said Malcolm Butler, president of The Fiduciary Group. “He is deeply committed to helping Savannah’s citizens in his professional career as well as in his volunteer work. I look forward to seeing what Scott accomplishes in the future and know he will continue to make a positive impact on our state and the Savannah community for many years to come.”
Georgia Trend’s editorial staff selected the 40 individuals from nominations submitted by readers. The criteria looked for the individuals who are making an impact on their professions, their communities or, in some cases, the entire state.
